Hi! I’m Amber. Pictured is me with my hubby Danny and our sweet baby M.

Just like you, I play a lot of different roles in life. I’m a mom, a wife, an attorney, a blogger, a small business owner, a sister, a daughter, and I’d like to think of myself as a road biker and a runner. And a mini-cadberry egg enthusiast.

But the biggest thing I am right now, is a student loan debt borrower. In fact, between my husband and I, we owe close to $650k in combined student loan debt.

My mission here at Deeply in Debt is to provide simple solutions for big student loan (or other) debt.

Do you feel like you are drowning in big time debt– student loans or otherwise? You have come to the right place.

When we began our journey to pay off our student loans, I scoured the internet in search of what we should do. I asked financial advisers. I spoke with similarly situated friends and coworkers. I spoke with finance counselors at school. I sought advice from everyone around us. I found that there was so much conflicting advice and felt like all of our options were really confusing. I was afraid to move forward with any debt repayment plan– fearful that I was not only making the wrong choice, but being judged for it. At the time, there wasn’t a lot of good advice for people like my husband and I, with BIG student loan debt, who simply wanted answers on what path was best. So I started this website, with YOU in mind.

I have learned some really important things about paying off big debt on my own journey paying off student loans. First, you have to learn to control your money, or it will control you. If you don’t know how much money you are bringing in and expending each month, your money will run amok. It will be difficult to meet ANY financial goal, including and especially paying off big debt. Part of controlling your money means that you have some kind of financial plan that you are actively working towards. Second, you actually CAN learn to navigate your big debt if you want to. Paying off debt (or otherwise dealing with it) is NOT easy by any means, but that does not mean its impossible. And with the tools that we offer you here at Deeply in Debt, it will be a lot easier. Seriously. You got this.

If you have six figures of student loan debt and aren’t sure what to do, we saved literally hundreds of thousands of dollars on our student loans by booking a consult with a CFA at the Student Loan Planner. I highly recommend contacting them if you have six figures of student loan debt. Click here to check out the Student Loan Planner.

If this is your first time visiting, I’d love it if we could get to know each other better. These posts will help you get to know me. Will you drop a comment on one of them so I can get to know you? Dealing with big debt is SO much easier when we have a community that supports each other.
